I'm going to Delaware

I'm going to Delaware today with my family to go to a wedding.  A family friend is getting married, but were just staying the weekend :).  I really hope I have a lot of fun and the food is good! (please let it be good!)  I know I'm special me and my Diane Von Furstenberg luggage that I got from Marshalls like 2 years ago, I love it!  Who walks around with a girly pink bag, only me lol! I'll be back Sunday night so don't miss me too much! (like you guys really care lol), hopefully with tons of pictures to share with you.

D.I.Y: custom header using picmonkey

I made this picture with picmonkey. I love picmonkey it is my go to site when I want to make something unique for my blog.  I made my post divider with picmonkey too and it came out so nice.

STEP 1

Before you get started in picmonkey you want to go to Google and search in images for a “white square”.  Once you find a plain white square background save it to your computer.

Go to picmonkey and click on "edit a photo".  Your going to upload the white square you just saved.  Re-size the white square to the size you want your header to be.  Make sure it is smaller than the actual width of your blog.

STEP 2

You can add the title of your blog and a tag line (if you want) by going to the “P” which represents text and pick the font and the size you want the title of your blog to be. 

If your blog has a white background like mine your header will look like it is transparent which to me looks more professional.  If your blog does not have a white background try to fill in the “white square” with a color that matches with your blog before you upload it.

STEP 3

Now comes the fun part designing how your header will look.  You can make any design you feel like.  If you had your own font or picture you made somewhere else like Photoshop you can upload it to picmonkey and re-size it to make it fit inside your square.  That is what makes picmonkey so fun because you can make any header you want, the options are endless! 

You can also use the tools in picmonkey to design your header.  They have a lot of different graphics to choose from just go to “overlays” and pick the shapes and graphics you want.  You can also change their color and size.  When you are done with your design save it to your computer as a png file (it gives you the option to choose this in a drop menu when you are saving your project).

Now all you have to do it upload your picture to blogger.  Go to layout, edit header, add an image and click "instead of title and description", hit save and your done.  

If you want to center your header just Google "how to center your blog header with css" and you will find a lot of websites to help you do that.

Leggings are not pants

When leggings were originally made they were meant to be worn under your clothes with your butt covered. I don't understand why so many women are wearing leggings as pants nowadays.  The times I have seen women wearing leggings as pants I could always see right through them.  I could see the type of underwear they were wearing, the color, and even the design.  I don’t know about you but I don’t think I want the whole world to see my underwear; I might as well not wear any clothes at all.

It’s funny that women who are out of shape wear leggings the most. They always seem to wear the sheerest pair of leggings they can find.  I hate walking behind them and seeing every nook and cranny of their fat while it’s in motion. Women who are smaller in size can usually pull off wearing leggings as pants but I still think it still leaves nothing to the imagination, and simply is not attractive.  I think leggings look the best when they are worn with a top that covers your butt. What do you think about it...do you think leggings should be worn as pants or not?

D.I.Y: Brown sugar & honey facial mask

 

The brown sugar & honey mask is known to help some forms of acne and can be used as an exfoliating scrub to remove dead skin cells on the face.  Learn how to make it at home, it is quick and easy to make.  All you will need is a brown sugar, honey, a bowl, and a spatula.

You will need to add a little lemon juice to the brown sugar in order to make the consistency smooth rather than sticky.

Add honey to the mix of brown sugar and lemon juice.

Use the spatula to mix it all together and add more brown sugar or honey to make the consistency as thick as you wish.

 

There we have it!  A brown sugar & honey facial mask made at home for just under $10.

This is a picture of me and my boyfriend at my brother's wedding last November...I finally purchased this picture from the photographers website for $2.  I love this picture of him and I...we have been together for 2 years and I love him so much it is hard to think of life without him because he is my best friend.  I know deep down that he is the man for me and it took me 21 years to find him and I am not letting him go.  I cannot wait until we are the ones getting married...that will be one of the happiest days of my life.

I went to Marshalls to buy new jeans since it is going to be getting colder soon and I have not bought any jeans in a few months.  I found two pairs that I liked…the red/orange pair are DKNY and the blue pair are from SEVEN FOR ALL MANKIND.  For both pairs I only spent $63...is that a steal or what!!

1. What things can you not leave the house without?  My house keys...It's not fun getting locked out...trust me I know far to well.  My iphone....I have to stay in touch with my friends, twitter, and instagram. My iphone charger because my phone dies ridiculously fast. Tooth paste and a small tooth brush...I like to stay minty fresh at all times...especially when I am at school all day.

2. What is your favorite color?  Green...for now...It's probably going to change.  In the past my favorite colors were pink, then blue.

3. What is your favorite song right now?  "I'm the best" by 2NE1...they are a Korean girl group of four...find the song on YouTube here

4. What is so special about you?  I tell it like it is...this quality probably gets me in trouble sometimes lol...but at least people know I'm always being truthful and "real" with them....no sugar here...sorry.

5. What is your favorite food?  Hmm...I have more than one...mac & cheese (with green and red peppers in it) and fried shrimp.  Just thinking about them makes me so hungry...yum.

6. What is your biggest turn off?  When girls don't act classy...just because you grow up in a certain environment does not mean you have to let it define who you are.

7. What did you want to be when you were growing up?  This is going to sound stupid...lol...I wanted to be a garbage lady!!  You know...the people who pick up your garbage twice a week.  I only wanted to do this because I knew they did not have to work too many hours and they made a good salary...young and dumb...I know.

8. What is the most dangerous thing you have ever done?  In high school I was waiting for the number two train with a friend to go home, and I pretended to kick her and my shoe flew off my foot and on to the train tracks.  I went on to the tracks to get it because I was not about to walk home with only one shoe on my foot...stupid I know.  It was hard getting back up on to the platform...and people were staring at me...it was very embarrassing!!...but I did it...and I'm glad I am here alive telling you the story...yay!

9.  What are you scared of?  Bugs!! I can spot them from a mile away and when I do I start running in the opposite direction lol...my mom always says I have "bug radar".

10. When and why did you start your blog? January 1st 2012...I wanted to do something new and unexpected for the new year...and here we are today!

Cold Stone

I wanted to take a picture in front of these random huge blades of grass (they are fake of course lol).  They reminded me of the movie honey I shrunk the kids, I love that movie.

My friends and I went to Cold Stone to get some ice cream...best place ever!!  For those who do not know what Cold Stone is it's basically a place you can buy ice cream that has many flavors and many toppings that they mix together on top of this frozen marble stone.  That is what makes Cold Stone so cool...and their ice cream is amazing to say the least.  The ice cream I got was vanilla mixed with red velvet cake...can you say yum!

P.S. We also dropped by Forever 21 just to look around to see what new items they had for fall and then I spotted these heels. I love them and they also had them in three other colors...I think I am going back to buy them soon.
