D.I.Y: custom sneakers

For this D.I.Y you will need a boring pair of plain sneakers...like these converses I have here...They don't have to be black & white...any color will do.

For this D.I.Y you will also need permanent markers, 4 yards of ribbon (whatever color ribbon you prefer...I also bought blue ribbon too), and a pair of scissors.

Now comes the fun part...you are going to cut the 4 yards of ribbon in half and replace the old boring laces with the bright colorful ribbon.  Then you are going to take your permanent markers and draw whatever design you want on each sneaker (I'll probably draw more things all over each sneaker later).

YAY! Now you have yourself a cute pair of sneakers!  You can also change up the ribbons to match different outfits, or when they get too dirty.  Hope you love what you created...I'll be wearing my sneakers today!

Jewelry display

I am a totally neat freak (sometimes lol) so I always have to have everything I own in a "spot" where I can find it.  That also applies to my accessories (necklaces & bracelets).  I wanted something that I could display my jewelry on so when I am getting ready in the morning I can just grab something to wear that goes with my outfit that day.  I went to one of my favorite websites, Amazon to see what I could find. I found this velvet jewelry display for $16, which is a steal.  It holds a lot of accessories as you can see and it sits right on top of my dresser, I love it (I am going to buy another one because I have more jewelry to display).  If you want to check it out on amazon click here.

100 Followers

I am so happy right now!  It finally happened...I have 100 followers...I never thought I would reach this goal of mine.  I just want to thank every single one of you...I appreciate the love that you have all shown to me.  Without you guys there would be no point in my endeavors to make my blog somewhere people can come to read something enjoyable.  I want RoRo's World to be a success and make a difference...even if it is just for one person.  As I promised I am going to do a giveaway...not sure what I want to give a way as of yet.  If you have any ideas for me I would love to read them in the comment section...so my next post will be my giveaway so check back soon!! Moving to wordpress?



 

I am really thinking about moving my blog over to WordPress.org.  A lot of people say WordPress is better because you can customize your blog more...you basically have more freedom to do whatever you want to your blog there.  Lately I have been very frustrated with blogger because I can not do certain customizations to my blog.  I needed help with exporting my blog and I wanted to talk to a customer service representative at Google...but there was no way to do this because they do not exist! {I fixed my problem on my own}.  I think that it is so crazy that I can not just pick up the phone and get help!  I do not want to lose you guys{my followers}, and I hope if I do move over to WordPress you guys will come along to my new home {you do not have to have WordPress to be a follower}.  I will definitely let you all know if I am making the switch......love you all (hugs & kisses)...Let me know what you guys think in the comments below.  

Update: I am not moving to WordPress...yay! Confetti falls from the sky.  I realized that WordPress is way more difficult to design your blog the way you want it.  I am no computer wiz so I decided to stick to blogger where it is a lot easier to manage and change your blog.  Instead of my blog being hosted by blogger it is hosted by bluehost...I am happy about that...so I am not leaving you guys!

My friends wedding

Here's a few pictures from my friend's wedding...the reception was so pretty...it was at this country club in New Rochelle by the water...the scenery was beautiful...right out of a fairy tale...I did not want to post pictures of the bride and groom because they kindly asked everyone not to post it on Facebook or any other social networking site.

Why blogs fail

In 2012 there is estimated to be over 164 million blogs on the Internet...yes I said it...over 164 MILLION!  That HUGE number makes bloggers like you and I a little scared, because we have a lot of competition to stand out and not fade into the dark abyss of the blogosphere.  But the hard truth about the 164 million blogs in existence is that 80% of those blogs fail or they are abandoned by their owners.  Why does this happen?...you may be asking...well here's a few reason why.

Success overnight?:  Some bloggers really think {laughing inside} that the heavens will open up, a miracle will happen, and some how...some way they will have 1000+ followers and tons of traffic to their site overnight.  Wake up and smell the coffee its never going to happen that way.  Granted there are some bloggers who become successful quickly but they usually put their heart and soul into blogging from the beginning, and even then it still takes a few months.  When these impatient bloggers do not get all the success they are looking for quickly they give up...Bye...one less person to compete with...{blows a kiss}

Rolling in dough?:  Some bloggers think that blogging is a way to make themselves filthy rich in a short time period {laughing even harder...I wish}...wrong again!...most bloggers will NEVER be rich. Statistics show that a measly 2% make six figures or more...others can make enough to live off of {I'll take that lol}...so the chances of becoming a millionaire is slim to none {tear}.  Once reality hits the money hungry bloggers run for the hills leaving their blog behind.  Hey if you work really really hard and are dedicated you never know you might find yourself on a beach somewhere exotic...drinking a piña colada while counting your millions.  That brings me right into the next reason...

Slapping up ads too early:  We all know that ads and affiliate programs can make a blogger a good amount of money when they have a lot of followers and traffic.  If your blog is new and you barely have any posts, followers, or traffic why are you putting up ads already? {waiting for the answer...cricket cricket...exactly}.  I think it is an actual turn off when I visit a blog that has nothing really going on yet but has the nerve to have ads in the side bar...that makes me want to click the red "X".  So please do yourself a favor and me too...take down the ads until your blog is getting more attention...unless you want to commit blog suicide?!...thanks!

Where are you?:  Are you alive?...in a ditch somewhere?...where are you!?...{sad face}.  Some bloggers just do a disappearing act for weeks or even months at a time, and wonder why their blog has not grown while they were away.  You have to keep your site current with new posts on a regular basis...people do not want to come back to the same old thing...snooze fest.  Your followers and people who come across your blog will lose interest real fast if they see that your last post was one month ago or more.  Sadly I have unfollowed blogs in the past that were not being updated at all for months...sorry...click!  So update your blog on a regular basis or it will FAIL...Doom Doom.

There are many reasons why blogs fail...these were just a few reasons that I have noticed and things you should try to avoid so that you do not have to go to your blogs funeral...{tear}...so work really hard, be persistent, stay motivated, and never give up if your goal is to make your blog a huge success..."FIGHTING!
