I decided to go vegan because I watched a documentary on how they treat animals on factory farms and all the chemicals they give and feed them. It shocked me!....I always knew they put certain chemicals in animal meat but not as much as they actually do. I told myself I did not want to consume animals that have been treated so badly and consume animals with so many chemicals.....It can not be healthy for my body. Being vegan means that I do not eat meat including fish, and diary products (eggs, milk, cheese, butter, etc). Some people believe that vegan's are not healthy because they do not get all their nutrients...but that is not true! Every nutrient you find in meat and diary products you also can find in fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. There is actual studies done to prove that people who have more of a plant based diet are way less likely to be over weight, get diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, and other diseases. Individuals who are vegans say that it changes their life completely, they have so much more energy, they barely get sick, their acne goes away, their skin glows, and their hair and nails become healthier......some have even reversed diabetes and even cancer just by changing their diet!!!! I will keep you posted on the benefits and hardships of being vegan. (Check out the documentaries "Forks over Knives" on Hulu, and "Food that kills" on Youtube....tell me what you think after you research)...
....Update: I decided to be a Vegetarian for now
